Hi,

I have been working in investment banking IT since graduating with a 1:1 Chemistry (Hons) degree in 1997 and am desperate to leave finance and get into oil and gas. The money is great is banking > 100k / year, but the job satisfaction is a big fat zero.

I would be happy to take a massive pay cut and potentially work for free to prove my worth, but I need advice on how best to get into a hands on role in the industry.

Not interested in a desk bound Mon-Fri role as that is one of the reasons why I want to leave my current role.

Any advice or possible leads would be appreciated.

Thanks

It is a good idea but you have to be knowledgeable when engaging into business because it is difficult to handle it specially if you don't know how to run it. But if you are willing to take risk on business you can try it, how will you know if you will not try it. Just love what you are doing and you can be successful on your career.
